The objective of this project was to study and identify the best combination of the technological bricks of the market, to meet the specifications of this kind of vehicle, in compliance with standards and regulations.

This challenge was an opportunity for students to participate in the SIA Power Train & Electronics Congress and to challenge themselves.

This 2019 contest had a new format with a single topic and 2 main milestones :a conference paper and a 5 mn presentation to a jury.

STUDENTS POSTER SESSION - Thursday 13 June / 9.00 > 13.00

FREE OF CHARGE for the students and their supporting lecturer

SIA invites students to participate to a Student Challenge called "Which Powertrain for an ultra-light vehicle ?"

In the context of CO2 emissions reduction, different fields are investigated: internal combustion engines efficiency improvements, downsizing, electrification, lightening of vehicles. In parallel with those developments, the trend towards new small vehicles that can only accommodate one or two people is growing. This leads to a significant decrease of the mass of these vehicles and also of the space available for the implementation of the powertrain.

The objective of this project is to study and to identify the best combination of the technological bricks of the market, to meet the specifications of this kind of vehicle, in compliance with standards and regulations.
