Renault is developing a new Hybridized powertrain to extend pure EV driving and to meet CO2 regulation challenge. Thanks to compact packaging, this new powertrain allows the hybridization of B & C segment.
This paper presents Renault’s electrified gearbox and in detail the innovative transmission technology. E-Tech has a flexible structure allowing full electric driving / parallel and series hybrid / pure ICE modes. It can meet best CO2 requirement. E-Tech can also achieve EV-ness with a direct drive feeling. These are the key points for customers with respect to Renault’s knowledge of EV-adopter’s.
A strong focus is made on a new state of the art gear shift process and friction reduction. Theoretical and vehicle test results obtained from the dog-clutch gearbox technology proves the robustness and the excellent level of functionality.
Finally we explain how Renault will introduce this new powertrain in its line-up.
