Despite several advances in headlamp technologies, the basic setting of headlamps still need to be set mechanically and manually. Moreover, this occurs far too infrequently. The ASSIST project involves carrying out a comprehensive analysis of the issues in order to develop and implement a complete self-adjusting system. The core of this project is the use of a one-camera system for scenario monitoring and the detection of adjustment marks from the light distribution available. Additionally, dynamic headlamp adjustment involves eliminating the existing manual adjusting elements and replacing them with actuator/drive units for both adjustment axes. The dynamic light functions remain in the system. The goal is to be able to guarantee the headlamp basic setting in everyday situations.
