This paper reviews the requirements with respect to flux and color consistency for different Automotive applications such a low/high-beam and DRL and assesses the suitability of current cold binned LEDs with respect to these requirements. Hot targeting and binning is discussed as a possible solution and the implementation of hot targeting and binning to LED manufacturing is described.
