The implementation of the ISO 26262 standard can be complicated. This paper describes the essential elements of our methodology in order to apply the ISO26262 standard on the embedded software. Principally, our methodology is based on the part 6 of the ISO26262 standard (ISO 26262-6). This methodology focuses on the software safety requirements, on the safety software team processes and activities throughout the V-cycle proposed by the ISO 26262-6 standard. We also present the difficulties encountered during the implementation. The software safety team already applies this methodology on the Body Controller (BSI is the Body Controller of PSA Electronic and Electrical Architecture) software. However, we are always looking to improve this methodology.
