International Conference : Automotive Power Electronics
Paris - Salons de l'Aveyron
26 & 27 September 2007
|
2nd edition of the international conference
"AUTOMOTIVE POWER ELECTRONICS"
OVERVIEW & OBJECTIVES
The first conference “Automotive Power Electronics”, held in Paris on June 21-22 2006, turned out to be very successful, and the participants explained that this was due to the unique possibility it offered
-
to bring together experts coming from the field of power electronics, and automotive engineers in charge of engineering for a wide range of applications. The objective of the conference is actually to be a forum for car makers, equipment makers, component producers and public research teams,
-
to be aware of the latest developments in terms of mission profile definition, power devices, power electronic packaging and topology design. First generation of power electronics in automotive vehicles is now on the market, using technologies issued from railway traction or industrial drives. It is now time for innovations dedicated to fit the technical and high volume production constraints of the automotive industry,
-
to understand the physics behind the issues, in order to be able to make the most educated choice in terms of quality-reliability-cost-performance
This second conference intends to continue and strengthen this forum, and to highlight the innovations that are emerging at a fast rate. These innovations are driven by the rapid moving changes that occur in the automotive industry facing severe constraints and directives for fuel economy and environmental protection. Other innovations to improve comfort and safety in the next ten years will also need more and more power electronics and actuators.
Power electronics becomes a major technology in automotive for all those reasons, with applications ranging from 500 W up to 100 KW. And, whatever the power level involved, the specificity of automotive requirements creates a completely new challenge that requires dedicated and innovative solutions, involving all the supply chain.
The extended Programme Committee, including major specialized companies as well as automotive companies, together with high level scientific laboratories, will strive to make this second event an invaluable opportunity to discover the latest progress in this field and to get an overview of the most attractive concepts developed by major worldwide laboratories.
At the same time, time slots will be reserved to discuss, in an efficient “face to face” manner around "stands", dedicated interests and future cooperation.
