Mycelium composites are emerging as a good substituent for plastic foams in different sectors. Here
is presented an alternative for expanded polypropylene (EPP) shells in sun visors. With the aim of validate the material for automotive sector, firstly test have been carried out and it was noticed the fields where is necessary keep working. Mycelium composite offer a natural origin and biodegradable solution with lower carbon impacts than traditional automotive foams with a competitive price.
