As one of the largest commercial vehicle engine manufacturer on worldwide markets, the Volvo Group is at the forefront of continuous technology development in order to deliver Emissions Compliant, Fuel Efficient and High Quality solutions. The latest released Euro6 versions of Heavy Duty Platform range engines have introduced a significant step in engine fuel system development, setting the basis for upcoming worldwide rollout. New proprietary High Pressure Common Rail and Low Pressure Fuel System solutions and associated benefits are presented: the modular approach allowed combining strong platform synergies requirements with customer offer adaptation objectives. The selected path enabled to implement new technologies while limiting the impacts on the existing engine platform. Finally, having embraced platform and future requirements from start could allow a direct roll out from European Market to North America and Japan applications
