The objective of HyDiVU (Hybrid Diesel for LCVs) project was to evaluate technologies for CO2 emission reduction of LCVs for long distance customers. The project has been based on three main axes: downspeeded Diesel engine, transmission hybridization, exhaust energy recovery. The combination of two first technologies results in a fuel consumption saving of up to 10%. Extensive simulation tools have been developed to support a system approach for overall optimization, control and tuning as well as the integration of model provided by the different partners on one platform. HyDiVU project is funded by ADEME in the frame of “Investissements d’Avenir” program.
