The collaborative product development of complex mechatronic systems is a major challenge for today’s innovative industries that is known to OEMs and suppliers as the concept of Systems Engineering. Therefore IT-Accountables of these OEMs and suppliers have to arrange their IT-infrastructure with the focus on an internal and external collaboration process with high efficiency. This includes the standard based mastering of the exchange or of open architecture methods for the objects in the systems engineering processes.
The Industry is well aware that companies today widely use the standards for the geometrical data exchange, but likewise these companies need to take actions in the matters of the requirements engineering, the physical behaviour modeling and the interfaces in the development processes of electrics, electronics and software.
This presentation will give a brief overview on these topics and on the last results of the ProSTEP iViP project Smart Systems Engineering. This project develops recommendations, processes and standards for the collaborative product development of complex mechatronic systems according to the systems engineering concept.
