International Congress : SIA Powertrain 2023 English

  • 14 & 15 June 2023
  • Port-Marly - FRANCE

A look back on the congress

On June 14 and 15, the SIA organized the 35 th edition of the POWERTRAIN Congress at Port Marly. Over these two days, we hosted over 700 attendees and 50 exhibitors, making this edition one of the most successful SIA event ever.

Historically, the "Paris" edition of the congress corresponded to a focus on gasoline engines and rather oriented on engines intended for private vehicles, while the “Rouen” edition on even years was dedicated to diesel engines and utility vehicles.

Recalling this quite recent logic allows us to fathom the accelerated change undergone by the powertrain world in just a few years: None of the sixty presentations that punctuated the 2023 edition was devoted to one of these historic energy sources!

Though, and even if power electronics are now a major topic, the purpose of the congress cannot be reduced to a simple shift towards electric propulsion and hydrogen.

Beside their contribution to the CO2 emissions reduction, all emerging technologies are now challenged on their comprehensive environmental footprint. Globally converging but at different paces, increasingly demanding regulations are instrumental in companies’ technology policies.

All these dimensions were clearly emerging in a very comprehensive set of presentations that perfectly mirrored the exosystemic dimensions now addressed by the congress.

The 2024 Edition will be furtherly consistent with this evolution by relocating to Lille, at the heart of a bursting automotive territory.

Rendez-vous in June 19th & 20th in the French Battery Valley !
