Call for Student Posters – Powertrain 2025 International Congress
At the Society of Automotive Engineers (SIA), we are committed to fostering and supporting the next generation of automotive engineers. Our annual Powertrain International Congress provides a unique platform for students to showcase their academic and internship projects through poster presentations. This initiative highlights the automotive industry as an exciting and rewarding career path for young engineers.
We invite students to submit their projects on the following key topics:
- Electric propulsion systems and control, including electric machines, batteries, and power electronics.
- Hydrogen internal combustion engines (H2 ICE) and fuel cells.
- Evolutions of electrified internal combustion engines (ICE).
- New powertrain platform architectures.
- Alternative mobility solutions.
We strongly encourage students to integrate additional aspects such as:
- Eco-design, life cycle assessment (LCA), recycling, and repairability.
- Materials and their environmental impacts.
How to structure your proposal:
This year, we ask students to structure their proposals using the following pitch framework:
- Define the domain of your project: Describe the technological domain or the specific use case your project addresses.
- Consider the potential use: What practical application(s) do you foresee for your project?
- Identify the pain point: What problem or challenge does your project aim to solve?
- Provide your solution: Explain how your project addresses the identified pain point.
- Highlight the differentiation: What sets your solution apart from existing solutions on the market? Include a brief overview of the state of the art (USP).
- Provide a technical justification: Outline the technical foundations and feasibility of your solution.
- Address roadblocks: Identify the potential barriers or challenges to the implementation of your solution.
- Propose next steps: Detail what remains to be done to make your solution viable and commercializable.
Why Participate?
- Demonstrate your expertise, creativity, and passion for innovation.
- Engage with professionals in the powertrain industry and receive valuable feedback.
- Gain recognition and visibility within the automotive sector.
