The purpose of this article is to propose an innovative methodology helping in the decision if a precipitated failure during HALT is relevant (or not) to a Design change.
The methodology is based on the following steps:
Step #1 : calculation of the absolute FDS of the HALT repetitive shock stimuli
Step #2 : calculation of the absolute FDS of the life profile sequence to which is expected to be applied to the product
Step #3 : comparison of the 2 above FDS, in the range of frequencies concerned by the precipitated defect
Step #4 : application of a criteria to conclude on the relevance of the failure to be corrected.
