NVH of Hybrid Vehicles – Key Challenges and Conceptual Approaches

After the big hype a few years ago, electrification and especially hybrid vehicles are now coming back into the focus of all OEMs. Main reason is that hybrid vehicles can significantly contribute to achieve the stringent future CO2 regulations.
Due to the high complexity of these various hybrid systems it is extremely important to investigate the new NVH phenomena and identify appropriate countermeasures.
Therefore, this publication will first focus on the identification of key NVH challenges in the development of hybrid vehicles by benchmarking and conceptual investigations.
To consider NVH in the definition of the hybrid concept, this publication will discuss several conceptual approaches. Main target of all these approaches is the early identification of NVH issues and assistance in the definition of appropriate countermeasures.
