Within the framework of a consortium including industrial companies and academic institutes, a lattice Boltzmann solver, called LaBS, is currently developed for CFD applications. The software parallel architecture and the physical models used in LaBS are described. The turbulence modeling is based on Large Eddy Simulation approach. For industrial configurations, a wall model is added to take into account near-wall turbulence effects. A dedicated GUI is used for model setup and the post-processing has been automatized using a toolbox based on Paraview scripts.
Industrial results on different application fields are presented : drag calculation, air flow through heat exchangers with rotating fan and wall pressure fluctuation simulations. In the field on internal flows, the example of the simulation of broadband noise generated by a muffler of an exhaust line is shown and a limitation of our current model is highlighted.
