Integration is a key factor to achieve high power density of Inverters and DC/DC converters for hybrid and electrical vehicles: power dice of Inverter and DC/DC are assembled into a single Power Module. Direct liquid cooling of the power module provides the best thermal performance, with low thermal resistance. Scalability increases the possibility to optimize performance and dimensions of power inverters for a wide range of applications (from 30 kW to 180 kW). Different configurations of IGBTs and diodes are possible, without major redesign of the system. A modularity approach has been utilized in the design, in order to allow a wide variety of combinations of inverters (single motor, double motors) and embedded or stand-alone DC/DC converter
