As an international research and training center, IFP is developing the transport energies of the 21^st century. In the field of powertrains, IFP develops technologies to cut the emissions and energy consumption of road vehicles. It evaluates and validates new fuels.

In the field of energy, it develops "pre-combustion" capture technologies for better control of CO₂ emissions.
