ALBI AND GAILLAC – 01 day

Morning drive to Albi onboard your private motor coach, with an English-speaking guide. Discover "Albi the red", a magnificent city crossed by the river Tarn, with its beautifully restored Historic centre.

Visit the Cathedral Sainte Cecile: perched high on a hill, it looks more like a fortress than a cathedral. The contrast between the sober simplicity of Sainte Cecile's exterior and the sumptuous decoration and detail inside (especially the huge mural of The Last Judgment), is one of its most remarkable features. (Entrance fee to the treasure room included)

Free time to wander through the streets of the historic centre. Lunch in which the white and greenish-blue cheese slowly matures.
After the visit, you will have opportunity to taste and buy a sample of cheese. at the restaurant "Lautrec" (or similar) in the heart of the city.

After lunch, drive to Gaillac, a famous regional vineyard. Visit the "House of wines" and taste 3 local wines.

Then, drive back to Toulouse. Late afternoon arrival.

The MILLAU VIADUCT AND ROQUEFORT – 01 day

Lunch enroute at « l’Auberge de la Borie Blanque ».

After lunch, drive to Millau. This attractive city nested between the Larzac plateau and the "causse noir" is hardly an hour's drive from the Mediterranean beaches.
With an English speaking guide, you will admire the Millau Viaduct from below. In the exhibition centre you will discover the viaduct history and have the possibility to see a short film about the different stages of its conception.
The Millau viaduct, designed by the English architect Lord Norman Foster is the highest bridge in the world: 343 m high, 2460 m long…

TOULOUSE 1 – ½ day

Later, admire "The Bernuy Town Mansion": Jean de Bernuy was the richest pastel trader in the town. He had the highest tower in the city built on top of his town mansion in 1504. It was a symbol of power and a sign of his important social status.

Return to your hotel late afternoon.

TOULOUSE 2– ½ day

This morning, we offer you the opportunity to discover two major sights of Toulouse with an English-speaking guide. The Assezat Town Mansion

It is a magnificent private town mansion dating from the 16th century and it was built by Nicolas Bachelier for Pierre d’Assézat. Its architectural design is identical to that of the square courtyard of the Louvre in Paris. Pierre d’Assézat owed his wealth to a tinctorial plant, the pastel or woad plant. The place is the seat of the Academy of Floral Games (l’Académie des Jeux Floraux) whose origins date back to 1323 making it the oldest poetic and literary institution in the Western world. The buildings, renovated in 1994, also house the Bemberg Foundation, a privately-owned museum that exhibits a very interesting collection of paintings, bronzes and other works of art on a permanent basis. The Augustins Museum

This municipal fine arts museum is located in the "Haussmann-like" district of Toulouse. This former monastery, a fine example of Southern Gothic, has housed a rich collection of paintings and sculptures dating from the beginning of the Middle Ages to the early 20th century since 1793. It houses an outstanding collection of Romanesque sculptures, probably unique in the world.

Return to your hotel late afternoon.
