Value Management:

OUR AMBITION   OUR FIELDS OF ACTIVITY

  • Contribute towards improving the economic performance of automobile-related companies and the efficiency of the engineers working there by fostering the development of Value Management..

    This goal concerns all design functions; for this reason, our ambition and that of the other cross-functional Technical Committees are complementary.

Deployment in three main areas to meet this goal through:

  • Analysis and identification of the expectations of all those involved (customers, manufacturers, suppliers) involved in the product life cycle;

  • The study of product, process and service functions from design through to maintenance;

  • The economic aspects related to the entire cost chain throughout the life cycle.

Working across these three areas we propose to foster the development and application of methodological tools:

  • Economic and strategic intelligence / Technological monitoring, including:
    - Benchmarking (organization and implementation)
    - Patent monitoring
    - Societal monitoring.

  • Design- and innovation-oriented methods of creativity, including:
    - Product/process design: Functional Definition, Value Analysis, QFD (Quality Functional Deployment), TRIZ (Teoriya Resheniya Izobretatelskikh Zadatch, (or TIPS, Theory of Inventive Problem Solving);
    - Brainstorming, Affinity Diagram.

  • Knowledge building, including Best practices.

  • Marketing, including tools for consumer study analysis and processing

HOW WE WORK   OUR TARGETS

  • Work groups of major industry figures and experts.

  • Conferences and seminars, notably in cooperation with other branches of industry.

  • Automobile industry figures (R&D, industrialization, technology experts and specialists, marketing, purchasing, etc.), as well as the academics concerned..

Styling :

OUR AMBITION

  • Reinforcing ties between those involved in the value chain, from styling centres to R&D centres, with both automobile and equipment manufacturers.

OUR FIELDS OF ACTIVITY

  • Developing community-based working methods between these two major “skill areas”:

    - "Top-Down" approach: closing the gap between stylists’ wishes and the range of possibility;

    - "Bottom-Up" approach: ensuring that innovations created by engineers in research centres are made available.

HOW WE WORK   OUR TARGETS

  • Work groups of major industry figures and experts.

  • Conferences and seminars

  • Styling &Technical Competition open every year to all Design and Engineering students and to young graduates looking for work.

  • Automobile industry figures in R&D and styling, as well as academics and teachers in the training institutions concerned.
