Technical Committee Embedded Electronics ans Systems (TC4) |
|
| OUR AMBITION |
|
OUR FIELDS OF ACTIVITY |
| |
|
|
-
Exchange ideas and thoughts about new services for customers, regulatory and environmental constraints, as well as new technological and methodological solutions for complete systems (very often electronically-assisted), equipment, and components, in order to meet newly arising requirements through constant progress and innovation.
-
Make the automotive community aware of the progress made in these areas through events or publications
-
Create operational training courses on these topics
|
|
-
The scope of our action is vast and very often cross-functional, spanning all equipment, components (sensors and actuators, batteries, etc.) and systems for current and future vehicles, as well as all the related technologies. The only aspects not included are those covered by Technical Committee 1 for powertrain and TC2 for vehicle dynamics. In particular, we should mention the field of electronics and all its various aspects (onboard software in particular), components (sensors, integrated circuits etc.), and phenomena (such as EMC).
-
Our activities focus on customer requirements: driver assistance, communication with the outside environment, telematics, comfort (thermal, visual, etc.), passive and active safety and on a wide variety of technologies: electronics, mechatronics, electrical engineering..
-
Cross-committee activities with the relevant committees, where they exist, include: quality and reliability, simulation, recycling, new materials (plastics, light alloys), vehicle and equipment weight reduction, new energies (fuel cells and new batteries) and mechanical or hydraulic equipment not covered by Technical Committees 1 and 2, etc..

| HOW WE WORK |
|
OUR TARGETS |
| |
|
|
-
Committee activities in the form of regularly scheduled meetings or via modern means of communication.
-
Very strong ties with the Midi-Pyrénées regional committee for all electronics activities (software and hardware).
-
A tie with the French Vehicle Equipment Industries Association (FIEV), due to the important role of automobile equipment manufacturers in developing and perfecting systems.
-
Work groups consisting of a dozen experts at the most, whose goal is to explore and work together on new topics.
-
Workshops, where twenty or so participants debate and share ideas on a given topic based on a presentation by an expert in that field.
-
Conferences and seminars, geared to a wider audience, to assess the state of progress in a particular area and give an overall perspective on a given theme.
-
Continuing education courses that meet identified needs and enable attendees to acquire and apply tried-and-tested methodologies.
|
|
-
Anyone in the automobile industry: Engineers, technicians and managers from automobile and equipment manufacturers, service providers, laboratories, schools and universities, research centres, etc.. Participants are drawn from many different functional areas within the automobile industry: design, manufacturing, purchasing ….
