Ater an introduction dedicates to place Linux regarding the embedded software market, it explains the adoption process of Linux in our company, that was working with legacy RTOS since years. Then it emphasizes 3 aspects of using Linux in an embedded device, using Linux in a real time context and porting an applicationfrom legacy RTOS to Linux.

The article ends up with the pproblem of management in an industrial context of a software base that movzs very quickly, and explains what philosophy to adopt regarding evolutions control.
